On the 26th of January 2018 the management of Riga Aeronautical Institute awarded with the certificates the students of the state enterprise "Kazaeronavigatsia". The students have successfully completed the Air Traffic Control Basic Training Course.
On behalf of the RAI administration and instructors we congratulate them and wish them a successful and professional career!

From the 23d to 25th of January Riga Aeronautical Institute was visited by the representatives of Kazaeronavigatsia, namely Damir Syrymbetov, Head of ATS, and Bahtijar Yusupov, the leading specialist of the training organization department.  They were present at the final theoretical complex exam of the Kazakh graduates. Additionally, there was an overall meeting with all Kazaronavigatsia students studying at RAI and a visit to the simulator facilities.
During the visit the Parties discussed different aspects of cooperation in the sphere of air navigation specialists training and current operational issues.

Konstatin Stepanov is RAI graduate, who currently is successfully working in the company Lufthansa Technic. In 2015 Konstantin graduated from RAI and the study program had a title "Aircraft maintenance" with degree of Professional Bachelor of Aviation as an engineer-mechanic of aircraft maintenance. During hisfourth year of studies he successfully completed training for the Boeing 737 Classic type in the Part 147 organization and received an appropriate certificate. After that he started his career in the organization of aircraft basic technical maintenance in the Airline Support Baltic (Riga).In the course of his work he improved his knowledge and completed the following training courses: Sheet metal course,EWIS,Fuel tank safety.Konstantin’s work in Airline Support Baltic (Rīga) was combined with his part-time study for obtaining the Master’s Degree in RAI, which he received in 2017.After that he was invited to work as specialist of aircraft structure repairs in the heavy maintenance in the aircraft technical ...

On the 19th of December we have convened the final training session of the course "Profession of today".
During the course participants noted the possibilities of RAI studios, also visited the airport "Riga". Upon the completion of the course each of the participants received a certificate which gives the advantages for the enrollment in RAI.

Riga Aeronautical Institute invites the employees of the aviation industry and graduates of RAI and other training institutions to attend Course "Type Training Boeing 737 Classic, Category B1.1".

21th of November 2017 in the frame of the ERASMUS + program, RAI was visited by the lecturer from the Vilnius Technical University, Ph.D. Vytautas Rimša, who conducted open lectures on the topics “Investigation and optimization of small aircraft elements by use of FE methods”. During the lecture students were acquainted with the research in the sphere of designing the small aircraft. Particular attention was paid to the practical application of computer design methods for optimizing various elements of the aircraft and use of the finite elements for the research and optimization of small elements of aircraft.

On the 31st of October, 2017, the RAI was visited by the Ambassador of the Republic of Belarus in Latvia, Marina Dolgopolova. During the visit, a number of issues was discussed, representing mutual interest for both sides. In particular, these were the issues of training of the transport and aviation specialists as well as possible prospects for cooperation in the field of training of those specialists. In the period from the 16th to 20th  October,  RAI Training Center  organized a training course "Safety Management Systems in ATC/ATM organizations".
The training course is designed for the top and middle management of air navigation services enterprises and includes different topics such as the organization of a safety management system,a risk management system, emergency response management and other important aspects.
The management and instructive staff of the RAI  would like to thank Faat Bogdashkin, Deputy General Director of RSE "Kazaeronavigatsia", for the active participation in the above mentioned course and mutual exchange of experience in the field of safety management.

On the 22th of September the RAI finalized the "ATCO Basic Training Course" and awarded the certificates to the students of the state enterprise "Kazaeronavigatsia".
Moreover, a commercial pilot license was awarded to the RAI student Karen Cvetanovich, who successfully completed a full course of professional training for a commercial pilot, including such programs and ratings as PPL, CPL, ATPL, IR, MEP (FCL).

On the 21th of September 2017 in the frame of the ERASMUS + program, RAI was visited by the lecturer from the Belastok Technical University (Poland), PhD Wojciech Tarasiuk, who conducted open lectures on the topics "CAx education and Tribological Problems during the Compaction of Granular Media as Exemplified by Sand - Lime Mixture".
A working meeting was held at the level of the Dean and the Administration, where further cooperation plans were discussed.
