Riga Aeronautical Institute has successfully finalized the summer - autumn cycle of the refreshment training courses scheduled for this year.
The aim of these courses was to provide both theoretical and practical knowledge, information about the newest developments and trends. All refreshment courses also included the linguistic component.
Refresher courses were conducted in accordance with the programs of "Air Traffic Management and Aviation English" and "Integrated course in CNS / ATM, Mode S and ATN technologies".

Instructors of RAI Simulator Training Center, Pavel Ogromnov and Alexey Fjodorov, have confirmed their qualification and obtained new STDI (Synthetic Training Device Instructor) licenses which correspond to EASA requirements. The issued licenses give the right to provide complete simulator training course both for Basic ATC Training Course and rating ATC Training Course.

On September the 4th 2018, Riga Aeronautical Institute convened the opening ceremony for the 2018/2019th academic year. The ceremony was attended by RAI academic staff and students, including the 1st year students. The ceremony were opened by the Chairman of the Convent Mihail Karol and Rector Anatolijs Melnis, who greeted the students with the start of the new academic year.

Asror Kambarov, RAI student, has successfully completed a professional training course for commercial pilot, including PPL, CPL, IR, MEP ratings and programs.
Asror has passed all the tests and exams in our pilot school PELICAN (Flight Training Center), and is ready for the conversion course in Europe. The next step for a successful professional career is obtaining a higher education diploma "
Air Transport Systems Management".

On the 29th and the 30th of June 2018 Riga Aeronautical Institute (RAI) convened an international scientific conference "TRANSPORT. EDUCATION. LOGISTICS AND ENGINEERING - 2018".
More than 26 reports of different content were presented at the conference, including such subjects as flight safety, aviation education, economics, marketing and engineering sciences.
The conference was opened by RAI Rector, Anatolijs Melnis and Vice-president, Mihail Karoļ. Greeting speech was on behalf of Karlis Kreslinsh, parliamentarian and professor.
Greeting letters to the conference were also presented on behalf of the Vice President of the Latvian Academy of Sciences, Andrey Krasnikov, and the Chairman of the Board of the Latvian Chamber of Co

Riga Aeronautical Institute successfully finalized the winter season of the refresher courses.
The aim of the courses was to provide the trainees with a new theoretical and practical knowledge, as well as to inform about the latest developments and trends in the appropriate fields of activity. All refresher courses include a linguistic component.
On the 20th of April, RAI finalized the refresher course "Radio navigation - technologies, facilities and management. GNSS technologies" for ERTOS specialists.
On behalf of the RAI administration and instructors we congratulate them and wish them a successful and professional career. We always look forward to see them again in RAI!

RAI student, Asror Kambarov, has finalized his first and one of the most important milestones leading him to the professional pilot career – he has received the Private Pilot Licence. On the photo which we have presented on our home page Asror is together with the FAA examinator which was responsible for his examination. Now he can start the next phase of training which will give him the possibility to pass the exams in order to receive CPL/ATPL.

On the 26th of January 2018 the management of Riga Aeronautical Institute awarded with the certificates the students of the state enterprise "Kazaeronavigatsia". The students have successfully completed the Air Traffic Control Basic Training Course.

From the 23d to 25th of January Riga Aeronautical Institute was visited by the representatives of Kazaeronavigatsia, namely Damir Syrymbetov, Head of ATS, and Bahtijar Yusupov, the leading specialist of the training organization department.  They were present at the final theoretical complex exam of the Kazakh graduates. Additionally, there was an overall meeting with all Kazaronavigatsia students studying at RAI and a visit to the simulator facilities.
During the visit the Parties discussed different aspects of cooperation in the sphere of air navigation specialists training and current operational issues.

Konstatin Stepanov is RAI graduate, who currently is successfully working in the company Lufthansa Technic. In 2015 Konstantin graduated from RAI and the study program had a title "Aircraft maintenance" with degree of Professional Bachelor of Aviation as an engineer-mechanic of aircraft maintenance. During hisfourth year of studies he successfully completed training for the Boeing 737 Classic type in the Part 147 organization and received an appropriate certificate. After that he started his career in the organization of aircraft basic technical maintenance in the Airline Support Baltic (Riga).In the course of his work he improved his knowledge and completed the following training courses: Sheet metal course,EWIS,Fuel tank safety.Konstantin’s work in Airline Support Baltic (Rīga) was combined with his part-time study for obtaining the Master’s Degree in RAI, which he received in 2017.After that he was invited to work as specialist of aircraft structure repairs in the heavy maintenance in the aircraft technical ...
