On 23-24 April, RAI representative, Development Director Dr. I. Arandas and ATC instructor S. Kovkin visited UFA ATCSim GmbH, Kaufbeuren, Germany. During the visit, the final version of the 3D ATC Tower Simulator, which will be delivered by UFA ATCSim and installed in Riga Aeronautical Instiute (RAI) in July 2025 in accordance with the previously signed agreement, was discussed. During the visit, an overview of the capabilities of the 3D ATC Tower Simulator was given, as well as training on its use.
The implementation of the new 3D ATC Tower Simulator in addition to the existing 2D ATC Simulator at RAI will have an impact on expanding the range of knowledge gained during the training process and will give a real-time feeling of working in a real ATC tower position.
