The purpose of the self-assessment of the Riga Aeronautical Institute is to analyze and improve the quality of the study process. Self-assessment is a regular internal evaluation of RAI's activity quality, involving teaching staff, parents, learners, the founder and the management of the institution.

One a year answers to the following questions are provided:

What were the work priorities of RAI in the previous study year, how did we manage to implement them and what data and information confirm this;

What are the strengths of RAI in the educational process  for this study year, and what should we improve in the educational process in the future;

What data and information describe the quality of work of RAI in the quality criteria to be evaluated in a given year, revealing strengths and further development needs.

By order of RAI, a self-assessment working group was established, which operates in accordance with the regulations on accreditation and the requirements of the higher education standard. The head of the working group is the vice-rector. In addition, study program leaders, leading lecturers, heads of laboratories, representatives of the student council's self-government act as members of the working group.
