Students from Kazakhstan’s Kazaeronavigatsia have successfully completed a two-month flight training programme at Pelican Flight Training in the United States. Flight training is an important component of the professional education of future air traffic controllers. It provides students with an opportunity to experience aviation operations from a pilot’s perspective and gain a better understanding of aircraft operations, pilot workload and in-flight decision-making, as well as the importance of effective pilot–air traffic controller interaction. During the two-month training period, the students enhanced their practical knowledge and skills in a real aviation environment while gaining valuable international experience in one of the world’s most active aviation regions.The students will now continue their studies at Riga Aeronautical Institute within the Air Traffic Management study programme.
