On 4 September, Riga Aeronautical Institute (RAI) held an Administrative and Methodological Meeting, bringing together the Institute’s management, academic and administrative staff, as well as representatives of the Convention, Senate and Student Council. The meeting reviewed the key results of the 2025/2026 academic year, discussed achievements and current challenges, and defined priorities for the new academic year.

RAI Rector I. Blumbergs presented the results of the past academic year and highlighted current issues concerning the election of academic staff in connection with amendments to the Law on Higher Education Institutions. Study Vice-Rector K. Savenkovs presented the quality of the study process and the main development objectives for the 2026/2027 academic year. Vice-Rector for Science V. Reiskarts outlined the key directions for the development of scientific activities, including research, publications, projects and digitalisation. A. Tiļļa, Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Management for Methodological and International Study Affairs, presented student recruitment and admission results, as well as the next steps in this area. RAI’s financial results, development plans and future priorities were presented by Convention Chairwoman and Vice-President M. Romele.

The meeting strengthened a shared understanding of RAI’s future development goals, the enhancement of study quality and the Institute’s key priorities for the 2026/2027 academic year.
