On 22–23 October 2026, Riga Aeronautical Institute (RAI) hosted the two-day educational course “Aktuālā profesija” (“Career in Focus”), bringing together students from Grades 10, 11 and 12 to explore diverse career opportunities in aviation, transport, logistics and technology. During the course, students explored the roles of air traffic controllers and pilots, flight planning, the links between engineering and artificial intelligence, and the importance of logistics in today’s economy. Students learned more about aviation development trends in Latvia and worldwide, industry requirements and future challenges. The programme also addressed the role of scientific research and its connection to developing research projects. The lectures were delivered by RAI lecturers and industry professionals, who shared their knowledge and practical experience. Such activities help young people connect what they learn at school with workplace requirements and consider their future education and career options. We would like to thank all the lecturers for their contribution and all the students for taking part in the “Career in Focus” course!
